The Canbury and Riverside Association (CARA) respects the privacy of all who contact us, whether a CARA member, supporter or other contact.
CARA does not use any additional ‘cookies’ on its website. However, CARA website includes links to other websites, purely because they may be useful. Users should be aware that other websites will have their own arrangements for cookies and privacy.
CARA treats personal information in line with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, effective from 25 May 2018, under which you may access any personal information an organisation holds about you, you have a right to be ‘forgotten’ and you have a right to know what your data is being used for.
In order to carry out our objectives and to administer membership, CARA keeps some basic information about you. Mainly this is your name, address and other contact details, so we may keep you informed of things that may affect the CARA area. We believe that this is ‘legitimate interest’ under the GDPR, as it is essential for us to carry out the work that we do. Importantly, we do not share your information with anyone outside CARA, and we ensure the security of the data we hold. We believe that our occasional communications, such as emails alerting you to matters that may have a significant impact on CARA Area, are what you would reasonably expect from CARA, and fall within the definition of ‘legitimate interest’. You may, of course, opt out of receiving communications addressed to you, so if you would rather not receive these communications from us, please click here and send an appropriate message to us via our website.
If you wish CARA to delete all personal information about you (to be ‘forgotten’) please click here and send an appropriate message to us via our website.
If you would like to know more about this, click here to send your question via our website. If you would rather, you may send your questions to the email or postal address below.
Thank you for supporting CARA.
